The story
Lößnitztalschänke brings traditional Saxon cuisine to Radebeul under the stewardship of Sebastian Böhme and his relatives. They assumed operations in 2022 after the venue had already anchored the neighborhood since 1991. The kitchen prepares every plate from scratch, focusing on robust regional flavors rather than fleeting trends. This commitment to honest preparation earned them a place in the Schlemmer Atlas, where reviewers highlighted the reliable quality of their daily service.
The menu follows a steady schedule that highlights seasonal availability and local sourcing. Wednesday features braised pork knuckle, Thursday shifts to trout from the nearby Moritzburg estate, and Friday presents a carved meat and cheese board. Guests consistently return for the slow-braised Sauerbraten and the dense Bohemian honey cake that rounds out the meal. Every dish arrives freshly plated, keeping the regional German fare firmly grounded in the present.
The building rises on three levels, offering a climate-controlled dining room, a vaulted cellar, and a sunlit winter garden. Large glass windows frame the surrounding vineyards and provide a clear line of sight toward the Bismarckturm. Outside, pine tree canopies and retractable shade sails cover the beer garden where groups gather around wooden tables. Families and dogs are welcomed throughout, making the layout feel as practical as it is inviting.
