The story
At Restaurant Tres in Oberndorf am Neckar, the Jiménez brothers run a kitchen dedicated to Spanish-Mediterranean cooking. Denis, Kevin, and Antonio adapted the Alte Rathaus building to serve small plates at the center of the table. This shared format highlights fresh ingredients like black tiger prawns, grilled octopus, and truffle-infused orzo pasta. The brothers also maintain a steady presence of regional Swabian staples like Zwiebelrostbraten on the menu.
The dining room revolves around cold and warm tapas that balance traditional techniques with modern Mediterranean execution. Guests frequently return for the patatas bravas paired with house aioli, alongside the chorizo glazed in red wine and honey. The ibérico steak arrives with chimichurri, while the brie-wrapped dates feature candied walnuts and crispy bacon. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded the venue a spoon for exactly this blend of Iberian flavors and local warmth.
Dining unfolds across distinct zones designed for different pacing. The main restaurant hosts full menus and cocktail service, while the salón focuses on drinks and lighter bites. A separate mayor’s chamber provides a quieter environment for private gatherings. Live music runs through the evening without overpowering conversation, keeping the atmosphere relaxed yet polished.
