The story
Da Lino in Zaventem has built its reputation on honest Italian cooking since the nineteen fifties. Papa Lino relocated from Sicily decades ago, passing the torch to his three sons who still guide operations today. Roberto manages the pass while crafting every component from scratch, including the daily baked bread and hand-rolled pasta.
Guests typically begin with the Insalata di Tonno, a straightforward assembly of yellowfin tuna, Cetara anchovies, and sweet sour red onions dressed in olive oil. Main courses feature handmade pasta shapes like the Ravioloni Limone, which pairs swordfish filling with an Amalfi lemon sauce and fresh mint. Traditional slow braises such as ossobuco anchor the dinner service, while the weekend lineup deliberately excludes pizza to keep the kitchen focused on those slower preparations.
Giancarlo Salvaggio curated a cellar containing over one hundred fifty bottles drawn exclusively from Italian wine regions. The selection spans every recognized appellation, ranging from everyday table wines to structured Franciacorta sparklers sourced directly from local producers. Patrons dine beneath a refined interior where vintage furniture meets clean contemporary lines, a space that recently secured a twelve point five rating from Gault&Millau for its unwavering standards.
